2014 has been declared the International Year of Crystallography by the General Assembly of the United Nations. As the UN resolution itself recognises, crystallography is the science that has enabled the material understanding of our world and that is crucial to facing the challenges that humanity’s development inevitably entails. However, for the majority of citizens crystallography is an unknown science.
In order to lessen this lack of knowledge, the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and Triana S&T, with support from Fundación Descubre and the Spanish Foundation of Science and Technology (FECYT), have produced this exhibition entitled “CRYSTALS: A WORLD TO DISCOVER”. The exhibition is an illustrated walk through the fascinating world of crystals, of their multiple applications and of the impact that crystallography and the idea of crystal have on our daily life, not only through science and technology but also universal culture and art.
The exhibition CRYSTALS: A WORLD TO DISCOVER has two versions: an exhibition for the wider public and another proactive exhibition for schools and universities. The exhibition CRISTALES was inaugurated the 2nd of October 2014. If you are interested in the exhibition, please contact us
